I miss home

Let me start of by saying that I miss home. Terribly. And in a dual way because I miss both Romania and the Netherlands equally and as intense.
When remembering how I felt previous times I left, the feeling seems very familiar. I had sometimes though diminished its power in my thoughts.

Leaving that aside though, I am doing my best to be my normal, cheerful self and to make the best of my present experience. So, I am proud to say I have achieved the following:

1. I am coping with the heat way better than I had expected. The stickiness is annoying but somehow I can make it work. I have reduced the showering to 2 times a day (which is no small feat, I tell you!) and am not feeling as awful as I had anticipated.

2. I have grown to appreciate the shower&toilet combination. Let me explain myself. Where I am living now and apparently generally across Malaysia, the shower is combined with the toilet. Meaning it is placed above the toilet - the water pours somewhere in front of the toilet itself, but the latter inevitably gets wet. It was quite a cultural shock but after some usage, I must say...it does have some point to it! :)

3. I have accepted that I will never get used to the no toilet paper phenomenon. Yes, people here do not use toilet paper. Instead there is a water hose that you can use to wash yourself. I did not yet figure out how people dry themselves after...I am not sure I ever want to figure that one out.

4. I have gone 3 days without any coffee and have survived miraculously :)

5. After a horror day yesterday in which every transportation attempt has been made super difficult by a racing competition going on in KL, today we figured it all out and had a smooth touristy day!
